There is a very specific rhythm to life in Provence ~ a cadence that prioritizes the senses, the sunshine, and the soil... After a whirlwind week of exploring hilltop villages, navigating bustling local markets, and wandering through the historic Roman ruins of Provence, we’ve certainly earned a moment of pause. It has been an incredibly active journey so far, filled with discovery and movement. That is why Day 7 is designed with a completely different energy. Today, we trade our walking shoes for a leisurely seat in the shade; we are slowing the tempo entirely to embrace the "Art de Vivre" (the art of living). On Day 7 of our journey, we fully immerse ourselves in this "Art de Vivre" as we head into the foothills of Mont Ventoux to visit the legendary Château Pesquie (pronounced Pez-key-ā). This estate, tucked at the foot of Mount Ventoux, is the perfect sanctuary for a day of rest.
This isn't just a stop on a map; it is an invitation to experience the soul of the Ventoux AOC. Owned by the Chaudière family for generations, this boutique estate is a pioneer in sustainable viticulture, producing wines that capture the perfect tension between the warmth of the Mediterranean sun and the cool, limestone-driven freshness of the mountains of the Ventoux.

A Morning Among the Vines
Our day begins with an intimate Tour of the Estate. As we enter this grand Estate, we'll take their private road which winds through the majestic Plane Trees. The Estate is surrounded by over 250 acres of organic, biodynamic vineyards where the Mistral wind whistles through the Grenache and Syrah grapes, where this unique terroir creates incredibly elegant, mineral-rich wines. Our Tour of the Estate starts with Celine who will take us through the hospitality center and explain the Ventoux AOC and what makes this terroir & this estate so amazing. We'll move from the hospitality center down into the production area & cellars for a more detailed look at how Pesquie produces these special biodynamic wines... Following the tour, we'll move back to the hospitality center and belly up to the bar for a curated, Guided Tasting. From their crisp, floral whites & pale rosés to their deep, velvety reds, you’ll taste exactly why Château Pesquie has earned international acclaim while remaining fiercely dedicated to its biodynamic farming & local roots.
Le Chic Pique-Nique Champêtre Français
After awakening our palates, we’ll transition to the highlight of the afternoon: Our Grand French Country Picnic. Leaving The Hospitality Center, we've arranged for classic wicker picnic hampers filled with Provençal specialities, a classic French checkered tablecloth and we'll hike over to our Private Grove.
We have secured a beautiful private grove right beside the Château. Here, in the dappled sunlight provided by 300-year-old Plane Trees, we will spread out for a feast that feels like a scene from a classic French film... This is no ordinary lunch; it’s a very casual, curated spread of local charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, crusty baguettes, and seasonal Provençal specialties, accompanied of course by bottles & bottles of Chateau Pesquie's best wines!
To make this afternoon truly magical & unforgettable, we have arranged to be serenaded throughout the afternoon with a private concert by a traditional French Troubadour. You’ve likely heard a steady rhythmic hum throughout our travels this week,.. and today, you’ll meet these "backup singers" ~ the famous Provençal Cigales. The cigales are practically the heartbeat of a Provençal summer! These cicadas are known as the soul of the region, and these tiny musicians provide a natural choir that perfectly complements our singer’s guitar. And there is nothing quite like the sound of live melodies mixing with the song of the cicadas as it floats through the ancient trees. It is the ultimate soundtrack for a "chill" afternoon, as we sip chilled wine, nibble on charcuterie and let the afternoon drift by...
Sunset & Celebrations: The "Summer in Provence" Party
Once we’ve had our fill of the estate's hospitality, we’ll make our way back to the Villa to freshen up. But the festivities are far from over... There will of course be another party at the pool!
And as the golden hour hits, we’ll gather for Happy Hour, Appetizers and another festive Dinner Party, leading directly into our signature Summer in Provence Party. This last night together is dedicated to friendship, fine wine, and the joy of being exactly where we are! We’ll toast to the week’s adventures, share stories under the stars, and celebrate this incredible Mediterranean lifestyle that has a way of staying in your heart long after you leave.
