Hello to all our upcoming Provence Tour guests!
As Terese and I finalize the details for our upcoming season at the Villa, we decided to head over to the French Riviera a few days early this June. There’s something magical about the Côte d'Azur in early summer ~ the scent of jasmine in the air, the brilliant turquoise of the Mediterranean, and that legendary "Blue Coast" light that inspired so many painters...
While we were scouting around for ways to make the most of a few free hours, we stumbled upon something that ~ to be honest ~ made us laugh at first. We saw pics and videos of these bright, quirky three-wheeled motorcycles with little car bodies buzzing along the Promenade des Anglais. They looked like something out of a vintage cartoon or a futuristic beach movie...
The company is called "NiceCar," and after our initial chuckle, curiosity got the better of us. We started digging into the reviews and were surprised to find that people absolutely rave about them... The more we read, the more we thought, “Why not?” So, we signed up!

What’s the Buzz About?
If you are planning to spend a few extra days in the Riviera region before or after joining us at the Villa, this might be the perfect addition to your itinerary.
Unlike a standard bus tour or a cramped rental car, these open-air vehicles offer a 360-degree view of the scenery. You actually drive them yourself in a guided caravan, following a lead vehicle. It’s the perfect middle ground for those who want the "wind in your hair" feeling of a scooter but with the stability and ease of a car...
The Itinerary
What really sold us was the route. The half-day tour takes you away from the city traffic and up into the dramatic cliffs of the Riviera. Here’s what we’re looking forward to:
The Views: The tour winds along the famous coastal roads, making frequent photo stops at overlooks that offer panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the luxury yachts dotting the harbors.
Mountain Villages: You’ll leave the coast behind to climb toward the perched medieval villages like Eze that define this region’s history.
A Scented Stop: Perhaps the most "French" part of the experience is a stop at a perfumery. You actually get to have a first-hand tour of the art of fragrance, seeing how the local flora is transformed into world-class scents.
Join the Fun!
We found the price to be incredibly reasonable for a half-day guided experience, especially considering how much ground you cover. It’s whimsical, it’s unique, and it’s a bit of an adventure ~ exactly the kind of "hidden gem" we love to find.
We’ll be sure to tell you all about our experience once we hit the road in early June, but if you’re the type who likes to book ahead, you can check out all the details here:
Whether you’re exploring the coast in a three-wheeled car or relaxing by the sea with a glass of Rosé, we can’t wait to see you all soon at the Villa in Provence!
